Many aging adults reside in New York City alone with family members living in distant cities who are unaware of their actual everyday realities. Neighbors are often the first to see behaviors and activities that suggest a person may be unsafe, at risk, or potentially destructive. These issues often become the responsibility of the co-op board/residence management group to address.
Humanittude has developed an expertise in working with residence groups to solve these situations so that costly processes like eviction can be avoided and unfortunate incidents do not occur. We reach back to the family to discuss the situation, become the designated Aging Life Care™ Manager of the aging adult, and implement resources to insure their safe and appropriate living in the building or move them to another location.
